Quacker Smacker FAQ
|
 |
Q:
What type of power source does the "Quacker Smacker"
(QS) operate on?
A: The QS operates on a 12 volt heavy duty marine battery,
which under normal conditions, will last for 2 to 3 hunts.
Q: How long will it take to put a QS out?
A: After you become familiar with the concept, it only
takes around 10 minutes.
Q: Will the QS keep a duck hole from freezing up?
A: The QS is NOT designed to keep a hole open from
ice and should not be left running over night to do so. Although,
after you break your hole open, it will help to keep it from icing
back over, but should not be operated with large parts of ice that
could stop motor from turning, thus damaging the motor. This will
also void the warranty.
Q: Will trash affect how the QS runs?
A: QS arms should only be 1/2 inch under water, which will
help avoid trash build up. However, if trash were to build up on
the arms, simply turn the unit off and remove the trash. This
practice will also help to increase battery and motor life.
Q: How shallow will the QS be able to operate?
A: If you need to hunt in water more shallow than the
adjustment bracket, simply dig a hole and place the stand at the
desired depth.
Q: How deep can the QS be operated?
A: There are two adjustment brackets, one for shallow water
and one for water 4 to 5 feet in depth.
Q: Is there a way to slow the QS down?
A: Yes, we offer a speed control switch as an accessory
product. However we do advise that the QS be operated at it's
original setting, because there is more wave action produced at
this speed.
Q: What size decoys should be used with the QS?
A: The QS should be operated on standard sized decoys, that
are supplied with each unit. DO NOT replace with any other size
decoy or alter in any way, as this will void all warranties.
Q: How far out can the QS be operated?
A: Each QS unit comes with 100' of power cord that has a
quick connect on the motor end, to enable an easy instalation.
Q:Can more than one QS be operated at the same
time?
A:Yes, we offer a dual feed cord, which will power 2 QS's
from the same power source.
