Hornady's 17 HMR 15.5gr NTX Varmint Express (Item #83171) is a lead-free rimfire load built for hunters who need non-toxic ammunition without giving up performance. Loaded with the NTX bullet, these loads deliver tack-driving accuracy and dramatic expansion on impact. The NTX bullet uses a non-traditional core material that combines accuracy, reliability and Hornady quality for use in areas with restrictions on the use of traditional bullets , making this a smart choice where lead ammunition is prohibited or discouraged. The flat trajectory delivered by the 17 HMR makes it one of the most accurate long-range rimfire cartridges available, and the uniformity of the Hornady 17 HMR case is equaled only by ultra-expensive match ammo. Each box contains 50 rounds of brass-cased ammunition rated at roughly 2,525 fps of muzzle velocity, making it well suited for prairie dogs, coyote, fox, and other varmint and small-game hunting.
