Schutt F7 VTD Helmet

I bought this helmet for my son who is playing for the first time on his Freshman High School Football Team. His mother was not on board at all with him playing Football especially now with all the recent CTE study's that have just come out. So after getting the helmet provided from his school, which are pretty old Varsity hand me down bottom line Riddell helmets we decided to upgrade. After doing a lot of research I choose the F7 because of Schutt's reputation of there previous helmets and the new features of the F7. I won't waste time trying to compare his Riddell to his F7 because you can't, it's scary with all the available information out there now that kids playing at this level with very little experience are often using the most outdated equipment that provides inadequate protection for them when they need it most at this young age. Simply the confidence alone that this helmet's safety provides over the other along with the comfort and weight difference between the 2, my son has become a better player knowing he has the best protection available at the moment which allows him to focus more on the game. Yes its not cheap, but price was not a factor in making a choice for us when it came down to choosing which helmet to buy for our son's safety!!
