Loaded with 50 rounds of CCI's .17 HMR ammunition, this box pairs a 20-grain full metal jacket bullet with a brass case and delivers a rated muzzle velocity of 2375 fps and muzzle energy of 250 lb/ft . The FMJ design is built for hide and meat hunters, since it punches clean holes with minimal tissue damage rather than expanding like a hunting round. That makes it a solid pick both for small-game hunting and for high-volume range work, where the flat-shooting .17 HMR cartridge is prized for accuracy at distance. Any modern rifle chambered in .17 HMR will run this load, though CCI notes it should only be used in firearms in good condition marked for 17 HMR cartridges , and shooters should check with the firearm manufacturer before using it in a semi-auto action. Non-corrosive priming and consistent brass casings round out the reliability buyers expect from CCI rimfire ammunition.
