CCI's 22 LR Shotshell (Part #39) turns your favorite rimfire rifle or pistol into a close-range shot gun for dispatching snakes, rats, and other pests around the barn or homestead. Each round in this 20-count box carries a payload of fine #12 shot in a 31-grain load, backed by consistent propellant and CCI's reliable priming for patterns you can count on shot after shot, with a muzzle velocity around 1000 fps. The load is designed for close work where a spread of shot improves hit probability over a single projectile. It's built for use in standard rimfire rifles and revolvers/pistols with conventional chambers, but it should not be used in firearms with ported barrels or ported recoil compensators , and it was not designed to cycle in most semi-automatic firearms . This is a pest-control specialty round rather than a defensive load, so plan your ammo box accordingly for barn, garden, or trail duty.
