Cold Steel's 42" Black Sjambok is a modern, all-synthetic take on the traditional African whip that's historically been used as a cattle prod, riding crop, and self-defense tool against snakes and other threats. Unlike most western style whips which require a rolling crack to function, the semi-rigid Sjambok is swung like a rod or stick , so the weight, speed and flexibility of the lash does all the work, and little skill or training is required to wield it effectively . It features a thick injection molded lash and is equipped with a soft comfortable Kray-Ex handle thats designed to resemble braided leather , giving it a secure, comfortable grip during use. Built entirely from polymer rather than traditional hide, it's incredibly durable and able to withstand weather conditions which would cause a traditional leather whip to break, crack or mildew . At just 13.5 oz with a 42" overall length, a 10-1/4" handle, and a 1/2" diameter tip, it's compact enough for everyday carry around the property, in a vehicle, or on horseback, yet substantial enough to deliver serious authority when needed.
