Cold Steel War Hammer

Enter a battlefield-tested design built for one purpose: putting down an opponent in heavy armor. The Cold Steel War Hammer features a drop-forged 1055 carbon steel head that's differentially heat treated, so the hammer face and spike point are hardened for crushing and piercing power while the rest of the head stays softer to soak up shock from heavy blows. Enter a battlefield-tested design built for one purpose: putting down an opponent in heavy armor. The head is drop forged out of 1055 steel and differentially heat treated, meaning the point of the spike and the hammer face are fully hardened so they can pierce and crush tough materials without failing, while the rest of the hammer is left soft to absorb the shock of heavy blows. At just over 2.5 lbs and 30" overall, it's highly maneuverable and can be easily wielded with one or both hands. The 7 3/8" wide head pairs a 1½" x 1½" hammer face with a rear spike, giving you both a blunt-force crushing surface and a piercing point in a single tool. The straight-grain American hickory handle delivers serious leverage for powerful swings, and a pair of steel langets is included to reinforce the neck of the handle against edged-weapon strikes, though buyers should note some assembly (attaching the langets with the provided screws) is required before use.
