Hornady 45 Colt 225gr FTX LevRev /20ct

Hornady's LEVERevolution 45 Colt 225 gr FTX (item #92792, 20 rds/box) is a purpose-built lever-gun and revolver load that solves the old problem of blunt, tubular-magazine-safe bullets holding back accuracy and range. LEVERevolution represents a breakthrough in ammo design for lever action rifles and revolvers, with its innovation coming from the patented elastomer Flex Tip technology of the FTX bullet. Because the soft polymer tip is safe to use in tubular magazines, these bullets can carry a higher ballistic coefficient and deliver a dramatically flatter trajectory for better downrange performance than the round-nose or flat-point loads typically required in lever guns. At the muzzle this load produces roughly 460 lb/ft of energy and 950 fps velocity out of a 4-3/4" test barrel , and Hornady lists it as suited for medium game and personal defense applications . One fit note worth knowing before you buy: the FTX and MonoFlex bullet design may require a newer magazine follower to provide the best possible functioning of the last round out of the magazine in certain lever guns , so it's worth checking your rifle's follower if you plan to run it through a tubular magazine.
