Hornady's Critical Defense 9mm Luger 115gr load (item #90250, 25 rounds per box) is purpose-built for concealed carry and personal protection, using Hornady's patented FTX bullet. The patented Flex Tip technology used in Critical Defense ammunition eliminates the clogging and inconsistency that often plagues hollow point bullets, using the same tip material found in Hornady's LEVERevolution loads. This design helps the round stay unaffected by thick and heavy clothing, including denim and leather, for more consistent expansion when it counts. Its premium low-flash propellant delivers proven performance even from very short-barreled handguns without disrupting the shooter's vision, and reliable expansion and dependable terminal performance can be counted on for concealed carry and personal protection. Rated at roughly 1140 fps muzzle velocity and 332 ft/lbs of muzzle energy from a 115-grain bullet, this load is a solid, purpose-built choice for daily-carry or duty use in 9mm Luger pistols.
