Sierra's #1345 is the 55-grain .22 Caliber (.224") Blitz bullet from the Varminter line, sold 100 to a box for handloaders building rounds for varmint hunting. This is a spitzer-style, thin-jacketed component bullet designed for total frangibility on impact, giving explosive expansion on small game while limiting ricochets. These bullets are ideal for use in the 222 Remington and 223 Remington, and are recommended for barrels with a 1 in 12" twist or slower, since faster twist rates can cause the bullet to disintegrate in mid-air. They're designed for velocities below 3600 fps, making them well suited to standard varmint cartridges rather than the hottest magnum loads. Each bullet uses a copper jacket over a lead core with a lead tip, has no cannelure, and carries a sectional density of .157. Note that this listing is for the bare component bullets only (100-count box), not loaded ammunition, brass, or a firearm.
