Sierra's #8815 Tournament Master is a .45 caliber, 230 grain Full Metal Jacket Match component bullet, part of the brand's line built specifically for reloaders who compete or practice with the .45 ACP. This 230 grain #8815 Full Metal Jacket Match TournamentMaster bullet, introduced in 1980, was designed to duplicate the positive feed and function of the "hardball" loads in the 45 ACP cartridge. As with all Sierra bullets designed for the 45 ACP, reliable feeding is an absolute requirement, and this bullet is uncannily accurate and reliable, making it an outstanding all-around choice for the 45 ACP in the field or on the range. It has a bullet diameter around .451–.4515", no cannelure, and is designed for taper crimping , so handloaders should set up dies accordingly rather than using roll crimp. Although it's a non-expanding design, its large frontal area and deep penetration also make it a fine choice for hunting or personal-defense practice loads , and each box contains 100 bullets for reloading — not loaded, ready-to-fire ammunition.
