Hornady Shell Plate #8 (part #392608) is designed for use with Hornady's Lock-N-Load AP progressive press and the older Pro-Jector press, letting you swap calibers on the same machine without buying a whole new press setup. These shellplates are designed to work with the EZ-Ject System and Pro-Jector presses. A key feature is the shell holder mouth geometry: the subtle radius of each shell holder mouth ensures smooth and reliable functioning, and the retainer spring is designed to stay in place when inserting cases into the shell plate. This #8 plate is sized for 30 Mauser, 30 Luger, 9mm Luger, 9x21, 9x23 Win, 38 Auto, and 38 Super Auto , plus 9x18 Makarov, so it covers most common small-pistol-case-head calibers in one plate. Keep in mind that each shell plate will also hold additional calibers with the same case head dimensions , so you may get more caliber coverage than the listed fits alone suggest. Note that a compatible shell holder (Hornady #8, part 390548) is used alongside this plate for full press setup on calibers requiring it.
