Sierra Bullets .45 185gr JHP/100

Sierra's #8800 is the original 185-grain Jacketed Hollow Point in the .45 caliber Sports Master line, and it's a component bullet meant for handloaders, not loaded ammunition. These bullets were designed primarily for the .45 ACP cartridge , and they feature Sierra's Power Jacket and the same hollow point design as Sierra's 9mm and 10mm JHP Sports Master bullets, and are also suitable for the .45 Auto Rim and .45 Colt cartridges . If you're loading for an older .45 Colt revolver, take note: the .45 Colt may require special attention when sizing cases during reloading due to a slight difference in bullet diameters, since some early .45 Colt revolvers were made for bullets of 0.454 inches diameter . Performance-wise, when loaded to maximum velocities this bullet is excellent for hunting up to large-size varmints, is a very effective self-defense round, and is an outstanding all-around choice for the .45 ACP . Each box contains 100 bullets with a diameter of 0.4515", a sectional density of .130, and ballistic coefficients of .100 at 1200 fps and above, .110 between 1200 and 900 fps, and .135 below 900 fps — note that Sierra has since introduced a redesigned #8835 version of this bullet, so be sure you're selecting the original #8800 if that's the profile you're loading for.
